Hi,
How are you?…really? There is a lot of change in the air and global systems being disrupted at the moment and this can be felt collectively. Politics, the economy, our environment, mental health, plastic, these things that can be burdens on our minds and bodies, effecting our nervous systems in subtle ways.
I want to invite you into a self-care practice, right now, as you sit and read this. I will describe the practice to you, then you can do it.
Look around in your environment and notice 5 things you can see. Really see them, be with them for a few seconds.
Now, Listen to the sounds around you and notice 4 things you can hear.
Feel your body, become aware of your bodily sensations and notice 3 things you can feel. It could be your clothes on your skin or hair touching your neck.
Now can you smell anything? Notice 2 things you can smell.
Finally, can you taste anything? Bring your full awareness to your mouth and sense of taste. What is 1 thing you can taste?
Now be in your environment entirely fully aware of what is around you, sit and notice your breath.
Rest here for a few moments in presence.
Thank you for doing this. Every little moment of regulation matters, especially in times of stress.
WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE?
So many people tell us they know how to meditate… they just don’t do it. This is a founding reason why we created the Community of Practice, an online space designed to help us stay connected to our practice and to each other.
It’s a bit like a Sangha in Buddhism, a term that means “to come together and practice.”
As Thich Nhat Hanh said:
“Without a sangha, you lose your practice very soon.”
He’s so right. When life gets busy, it’s easy to let your practice slip, unless you have a place and community we can return to.
The Community of Practice is your place. It’s online, it’s global, and it’s available now. For $5 NZD per week.
What the membership includes:
Monthly Live Group Calls for meditation, connection, and reflection (recordings available if you can’t make it.)
Our first live meditation is Thursday, 21 November, 7:00 pm NZT / Wednesday, 20 November, 8:00 pm London Time.
Weekly Recorded Meditations & Reflection Prompts to support you wherever you are, any time of the day
Community Chat for connection, support, and growth with others who are on this journey too
This isn’t another course. It’s a space to hold your mindfulness practice with others who understand.
We are making this available for $20 NZD per month—that’s $5 per week.
PLUS, we’re offering a special Founding Member Tier for the first 10 sign-ups: everything in the regular membership, plus a 1:1 coaching call with Ursula (valued at $250 NZD).
We look forward to growing this community with you and invite you to be involved.
Bless,
Ursula + Charlotte xx
